It seems like it is cold everywhere, even down here in Alabama.  I don't own very many pairs of slacks since I wear skirts most of the time.  It is too cold to even think about a skirt or dress. I have got out the slacks and plan to wear them. I have to walk two blocks from the parking deck to my building. BRRRR!!!

We are expecting frozen precipitation on Friday. I'm supposed to drive two hours to my mother's house. I may be rethinking that trip. If I do make the trip, I'll be wearing corduroys, a Lauren by Ralph Lauren turtleneck and my Hunter boots. I want to keep my feet dry and warm.

Stay warm and stay safe in this weather.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Hello...Hello!

My goal is to start back blogging more often. I hope to keep it up.

This week, I have been recovering from a bad head cold. My mother and sister are recovering from the flu. Poor dears!

Lately, I've become obsessed with the Lauren by Ralph Lauren cotton ribbed turtlenecks. I have red, black, gray, yellow and red/black striped. I like them because I can wear them with lots of different things. They go well with pants, skirts and jeans.  I can accessorize with pearls or Lauren equestrian jewelry.

I went on my annual Nashville shopping trip a couple weeks ago. I didn't do too much damage. Sweaters from Macy', tees and cardigan's from Talbots, white OCBD from Brooks Brothers and small storage boxes from The Container Store. I wanted a new pair of Revas, but did not like the color.

I hope everyone has a great evening.

I hope everyone is doing well. I've been really busy lately, but hope to have more time after the holidays. I hope to be a better blogger for the new year.

I hope everyone has a very Happy Holiday Season.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!!

Monday, 25 August 2014

Hello all!  I know that I have been away for a while. Not much to say, plus I have been rather busy. I have been keeping up with everyone in blogland.

I love to go to Atlanta shopping, but do not go as often as I like. One reason is that I like to go by myself. I usually have a list and my stores mapped out because I need to make the most of my time. Saturday was the first time that I have been able to go in a couple of years.

My first stop was the outlets north of Atlanta. I got there at 10:15. I bought earrings and bangles at Kate Spade, gadgets and a scone pan at Williams Sonoma, a night stand at Pottery Barn (great deal!), and blouses at Brooks Brothers. I browsed a few other stores, but made no purchases. Then it was on to Phipps Plaza. I bought black/silver Revas at Tory Burch and a planner at Kate Spade. I cruised through Jack Rogers, Lilly Pulitzer and Nordstrom. I then went to Lenox Square. After lunch at The Corner Bakery (love the chicken salad), I made my way to the stores. At Kiehl's I bought shampoo. I bought a pink/blue/green OCBD, a navy cardigan at Lacoste, a Madeline book at Pottery Barn Kids, and a Mason Pearson comb at Neiman Marcus. On my way out, I bought chicken salad to take home from The Corner Bakery and stopped by Panera to redeem my rewards for a free scone and soft drink. I was able to leave at 4:00 to drive home.

I hope to go back sooner rather than later.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Sunday, 13 April 2014

I'm still around. I have been fairly busy lately.

Yesterday, I decided that it was about me. I went shopping by myself. Talbot's Outlet was having a sale on dresses. I went, but didn't find a single dress that I even liked. It was not a wasted trip. I was able to buy some tees that were on sale. I went into The Brooks Brothers Outlet to see if they had any cute jewelry. Before I got to the jewelry stand, I spied three dresses that I liked. I tried them on and bought all three along with two cardigans that coordinated with them. The cardigans were 50% off and the dresses were 40% off. Good deal!

I almost stopped at the Kate Spade store to see if they had earrings to match one of the cardigans but decided to wait. I have a bad addiction to Kate Spade jewelry right now. As soon as I think I'm cured, something comes along that I want to buy.  I guess there can be worse addictions.

I hope that evetyone has a great Sunday.

I hope everyone is surviving the insane winter weather that is sweeping the country.   I have really enjoyed the few warm days that we have had.

Since my last post, I have changed jobs. Same company, different job.  I now work in an area that houses temporary office space for employees that work in other buildings that have to attend meetings at the corporate headquarters.  It can be reserved for an hour or all day. I sort of manage the area. I assist people with reservations, visitors, etc.  I'm sort of like a concierge.  I absolutely love it.  It is less stressful than my other job, even when it is extremely busy. I have met so many nice people. I am the first person to have this position. Many people comment that they are glad that I am there.

I don't have to dress as stiff as I use to. I enjoy my cardigans, pants and flats.

I hope everyone has a great Thursday. It is almost the weekend.

Tuesday, 4 February 2014

I am still trying to recover from last week.  Last Tuesday, the weatherman predicted a slight dusting of snow. A slight dusting turned into two inches of snow over a glaze of ice. My employer closed at 11:00 am.  It took me about four hours to go just a few miles. I decided to go back to work. When I got back, my boss started organizing volunteers to go to the kitchen of the executive dining room to look for food to serve to those stranded in our building. I had experience with a meat slicer, so I sliced ham and turkey for sandwiches. We found bread, salad fixings, chips and beverages. We put everything out in the dining room. We served over 300 people who were stranded. Everyone seemed to appreciate it. The next day we served breakfast and dinner. I was not able to go home until Thursday at noon. I had to wear the same dress and sweater for 2 1/2 days.  It was not fun . I know that folks up north have worse storms, but the south is not prepared. There are also mountains and bridges that we have to navigate.

On a happier note, I was able to go shopping a few weeks ago, I bought a pair of navy Revas, plus some cute jewelry at Kate Spade. I am now searching for some cute blouses to wear to work.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
